Community Fishing Dock in Lake CarolinaOne of my favorite past times has always been fishing. Not sure why I latched on to it the way I did, but I just love it. Luckily I live in a community with a lake and I get to sneak over to it on a regular basis. I have a handful of lures that I have simply mastered using and it doesn't really matter what kind of weather we have or what time of day it is, if there are fish nearby, I will catch one. I do indeed like to try some new lures once and a while, but I almost always revert back to tried and true methods and techniques whenever the bite is tough and I know if I just give it time, it will produce.

One quick trip to any sporting goods stores will reveal an endless array of lures and baits of all sizes, shapes, and colors imaginable. And on any given day, with the right conditions, any of them may indeed work and put a fish on the bank. Anyone walking through the store has access to every lure on the shelf. Just grab what you want and go to work at any body of water. But in order to make them really work their best, it takes the right presentation and technique.

Sunrise at Lake CarolinaWhen it comes to real estate, lures are basically the same way. We all have access to the same things. We all have access to the same sites, the same tools, and every other gadget imaginable to help find buyers and sell houses. So what makes one agent any better than any other agent out there, well, it's not the tools but how well you use them. It's all about the presentation and the technique that you use to get the most out of the tools you have a on hand. And just like fishing, I have a few that I have mastered over the years and I know that no matter what the market is like, if I just give it time, it will work.

Sure I like to try new things from time to time and I have even found some success in my efforts to add a new tool to the box, but not at the cost of sticking to what I do best.
